For those who would like "too much information".
The Irwin 52 with its generous fuel and water
tankage has always been noted for its comfortable cruising
characteristics. These wonderful yachts lend themselves perfectly to
family cruising, charter operation, or spacious luxurious
accommodations for just a cruising couple. With her centerboard down,
drawing 13 feet she goes to weather well and with the centerboard up her
5-½ ft. draft allows her to anchor in shoal areas normally not
accessible to boats of this size.
Jalapeρo differs from other Irwin 52's in the
custom-built fiberglass "hard top" cockpit enclosure. It is an integral part of the yacht
built by the factory, and not an "add-on". The cockpit can be
opened and closed with rollup curtains for complete protection in less
than one minute to create a pilothouse. She is set up for two people to sail with Harken roller
furling on Genoa and staysail and lazy jack stack packs on mainsail and
mizzen. She includes all the amenities of a
luxurious second home with great sailing or motoring characteristics.
She
even has her own workshop/laundry cabin complete with washer/dryer and
trash compactor.
The Irwin 52 is the most successful and popular cruising
yacht of her size. Each cabin has a separate head and shower with lockers and drawers.
A large V-berth comprises the forward guest stateroom. On the port side is
a second guest stateroom
with a large double berth. The spacious salon offers an L-shaped settee on
the port
side and 6-1/2 foot settee on starboard with television, stereo, CD player, VCR,
and built in bar. The salon settees convert to two single sleeping
bunks. To starboard is the large galley with a double top-loading refrigerator and separate large freezer,
microwave/convection oven, and a Force 10 3-burner stove w/oven. Aft is the owner's/crew
stateroom with in-suite head and shower. The port side fourth quarter bunk
cabin has been converted to workshop/laundry
room with washer/dryer and trash compactor. Forward of this
cabin is the navigation station on port side of main salon.
